Welcome First Year Bonners !!!

A very excited and invigorating group of new Bonners made their way to Guilford’s campus this week. After checking in, they had lunch with the Project Coordinators while their parents met with James.

Watch Out Guilford, Baby Bonners are here

On Tuesday, we travelled to High Point for a community forum on homelessness with our friend, Raymond Payne of Rabbit Quarter Ministries. Raymond then led us to a homeless camp where we were graciously welcomed. The camp is located in a small wooded area off one of the major roads in town. Many of the residents were veterans,a fact that shocked most of the group. The stop made a lasting impression on our first years and many have pledged to return to visit Doc and the others in the camp.

After a leisurely lunch the China King buffet in Greensboro, we visited with the staff of the Beloved Community Center. Our first years were introduced to several of the important issues they will face in their new community. Thanks to Rev. and Joyce Johnson, their staff (especially Bonner Alum, Elena Conley).
